Reflection：Lu Zhengyuan
From early practices, Lu Zheng yuan used 100 days to just create one piece of work, his sensitive taste to all the daily things created his unique individualistic art style. From the viewer’s concepts, Lu Zheng yuan’s are practice can be considered to be complicated and messy, it’s all about daily objects that we can see all the time, and it all became his targets of creation. However, those all the core of Lu Zheng yuan’s art creations, the artist sealed up the gap between our daily lives and art, it dug into the creational tentacles of our daily lives, and fulfilled the true cause for the concepts of “everyone can be an artist” and “everything can be an artwork”.
On today’s exhibition, the artist’s creation were inspired by the thoughts that brought to us by the light and objects, through those micro, fragile, and easily forgotten senses, he intend to describe the amazing changes between particles and dimensions within matters. He can use the chain reflections to make the sunlight became static within the gallery; or use a two meter long shiny marble, or bring in few black and shiny oil paintings, and made every single ash became a part of the painting; or just poke a sharp pin into a picture of hyper realistic eyeball, by doing this the artist has shown his energy of creating magic through micro matters.
The exhibition was named “reflection”, because all the works were based on the delicate relationships between matters and statics vibrations. There is an academic definition for light, it is said that light is a kind of particle and a kind of wave or vibration, at the same time, light has its own mass, through the theories of Albert Einstein light’s mass can be calculated, and it’s the modern physic science’s answer for “what is light”. However, to Lu zheng yuan, light is the foundation of our daily lives, it’s the tools for us to understand the outside world, and also a carrier for our ideas and information.
On the middle line of light and matters, not only we can see the cold world of physics, but also the artist’s expression towards his knowledge of the truth of the matters itself, we can smell the scent of ideas, the artist’s speculation through matters, and the solution towards his inner self, which is the true nature of art.
